Disseminates publications eg. booklets and leaflets on "Fire Safety At Home", posters on "Fire Safety Consciousness Start At Home", Stickers with fire safety slogans such as "Don't Leave Cooking Unattended", " Don't Overload Electrical Outlets", "Don't throw Lighted Material Or Hot Ashes Into Rubbish Chute"

Co-organises the annual Fire Safety Campaign, first launched in 1998, with the other Council's Committees, the SCDF and other corporate sponsors, to reinforce and instill a heightened sense of fire safety awareness in homes, industrial and commercial premises.
Organises Home Fire Safety Exhibitions at constituency level and participates in Homemakers' Exhibitions.

Initiated the formation of Self-Help Groups, as part of the Civil Security and Safety Programme (CSSP), to provide assistance for the sick and elderly in a fire situation.

Initiated, in 1999, a pilot project, together with HDB, to mount the "Fire Emergency Evacuation Guidelines Panel" at the first storey lobby of 9 HDB blocks in Bukit Panjang Town, Ang Mo Kio Town and Tampines Town. In four official languages, accompanied by simple graphic illustrations, they serve to educate residents on the appropriate evacuation procedures to be adopted in a fire situation.
